Junior Coach Richerlin is a 3rd grader at the Parthum Elementary School in Lawrence. Junior Coach Richerlin has made a big impression on Coach Rivera<\/a>, the Playworks AmeriCorps Coach at the Parthum, as a responsible and caring young woman.<\/span><\/p>\n

Richerlin knows the expectations and core values of being a Junior Coach and exemplifies them every day. According to Coach Rivera, \u201cShe shows true leadership every single day both inside the classroom and outside on the recess yard.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Junior Coach Richerlin can often be found on the foursquare court, encouraging her peers to rock it out<\/a> when the ball hits the line and high-five each other when they get out. Richerlin excels as a leader among her fellow 3rd graders, but her favorite recess shift is with the 1st graders. <\/span><\/p>\n

Coach Rivera says that she can always count on Junior Coach Richerlin to be supportive of other students and fellow Junior Coaches. We are proud to have Richerlin on our Playworks team at the Parthum. We know she will continue to make a difference every day by being a kind and responsible leader to her peers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: How does it feel to be selected as the Junior Coach of the Month?<\/b><\/h3>\n

It feels good and nice because people like to treat Junior Coaches well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: What\u2019s your favorite part about being a Junior Coach?<\/b><\/h3>\n

My favorite part of being a Junior Coach is setting up recess. And when I play with the other kids, they like to listen and rock it out when they need to.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q: What have you learned from Coach Rivera at Junior Coach Training?<\/b><\/h3>\n

One thing I\u2019ve learned from Coach Rivera is that sometimes Junior Coaches will be treated nice by the other kids, and sometimes they won\u2019t.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q:\u00a0<\/b>What piece of advice would you give to other Junior Coaches who want to be successful?<\/b><\/h3>\n

I would tell other Junior Coaches to always try their best.<\/span><\/p>\n
