Coach Kristin is a first year program coordinator at the Bowditch Elementary School in Salem. She is a Salem native and is thrilled to be launching Playworks programming in her hometown this school year. She plays an essential role in helping Playworks expand beyond Boston and into other critical gateway cities. Coach Kristin takes great pride in bringing safe, healthy, and inclusive play to Salem and that the staff at her school thoroughly enjoy her presence. She is a natural Playworks coach, and has an immense commitment to making a difference in her community. She understands the importance of play and physical activity throughout the school day so much so, that she is starting to do movement breaks for the entire school.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the month of September, Coach Kristin began introducing her school to Playworks programming. During this process she met with administration to ensure that all aspects of our programming were running smoothly. She worked closely with her administration to begin movement breaks throughout the school day. She rotates around to individual classrooms to implement classroom breaks, delivering them in both Spanish and English so all students can engage. Additionally, she is incorporating academic lessons into her movement breaks, emphasizing particular math or science skills students are learning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Coach Kristin continued to make excellent happen at the Bowditch Elementary School through building excellent relationships with all students, staff, and families at her school. Additionally, she has successfully been able to transition students back to the classroom focused and ready to learn. Throughout the month of September, Coach Kristin has shown that she is committed to making excellent happen for the students in her school and the Playworks Massachusetts community.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
