Safe and healthy play is possible at the Curley K-8 School thanks to the support of 3rd-8th grade literacy coach, Eileen Cronin. Mrs. Cronin has been at the Curley for three years. This year, she has lived up to her title of \u2018coach\u2019 by supporting Playworks programs during her free time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs. Cronin has picked up on strategies like call-and-response to get students\u2019 attention and Rock, Paper, Scissors to resolve conflicts. During recess, Mrs. Cronin always encourages students\u2019 to join in games and have fun. <\/span><\/p>\n

Mrs. Cronin sets a positive example for students by showing patience. When students come to her with problems, she calmly listens to both sides of the story. It makes a huge difference for students to know that their voices are heard.<\/span><\/p>\n

These are just a few of the ways Mrs. Cronin goes above and beyond for her students.<\/span><\/p>\n

Playworks Coach Jacqui at the Curley shared a story about how Mrs. Cronin recently stepped up to support her:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe other day, a substitute got confused about the Playworks schedule. She brought students outside for Class Game Time when I was with another class. Mrs. Cronin stepped in by volunteering to play organized games with them until I finished with the first class. She not only helped the substitute AND myself, but she put the students first.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

According to Katie Grassa, principal at the Curley, \u201cMrs. Cronin is a team player and understands how a student’s <\/span>whole<\/span><\/i> school experience is important, not just during the literacy block. She is always willing to jump on board with school initiatives and do her part as a teammate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

We are grateful for school staff members like Mrs. Cronin who are invested in making the school day a positive experience for all students. Keep up the great work, Mrs. Cronin!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
