Coach Heather is a third year Program Coordinator who fully embraces the mission and values of Playworks, she has served as a Playworks Coach in two different regions! Entering her second year with Playworks Massachusetts, Coach Heather has launched Playworks programming at the UP Academy Holland. Coach Heather has prided herself in bringing Playworks Core Values to the UP Academy Holland, emphasizing the importance of safe, healthy and inclusive play for all students. She has created a school wide incentive system for Class Based Action Learning. When classrooms as a whole are performing well, they are able to gain more Playworks time with Coach Heather!<\/span><\/p>\n

During the month of November, Coach Heather made excellent happen by leading an ice skating field trip to the Boston Common Frog Pond with her Junior Coaches. As a Playworks returning coach, she planned and organized the trip for the Junior Coaches at UP Academy Holland. She then invited other Playworks schools to join her on the field trip, three additional schools ended up joining Coach Heather and her Junior Coaches. This field trip was a great reward for Junior Coaches and celebrated their leadership skills. For many, it was their first time ever ice skating!<\/span><\/p>\n

Coach Heather continues to make excellent happen through her innovative and creative ideas she implements at her school. For her Junior Coach program, she created a \u201cHeather Bucks\u201d incentive system. She customized a dollar bill to have her face in the middle. Junior Coaches are able to earn Heather Bucks for positive sporting behavior and can earn various prizes with Heather Bucks. Additionally, Coach Heather created a Fit Kid curriculum for students who are unable to receive recess time. This ensures that all students are remaining active during recess even if they are unable to play alongside their peers. With her bubbly personality and positive attitude, we are confident that Coach Heather will continue to make excellent happen throughout Massachusetts.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
