Safe and healthy play would not be the same at the Chittick Elementary School in Mattapan without Greg McElroy. This is Greg\u2019s sixth year as a custodian at the Chittick. Greg works every day to create a safe and welcoming environment at the Chittick for every student.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the morning before school, you will find Greg in the recess yard making sure it is clean and organized and disposing of anything that might be harmful. Greg works hard to maintain the Chittick, both inside and outside, to create an environment where students, faculty, and parents feel welcome and comfortable.<\/span><\/p>\n

But Greg\u2019s contributions at the Chittick go far beyond his job description. Every day Greg takes time to engage with students and create a positive atmosphere at school. Greg takes pride in the accomplishments of students and does whatever he can to make them feel appreciated.<\/span><\/p>\n

We aren\u2019t the only ones who have noticed Greg\u2019s contributions to the Chittick. Students at the Chittick have only positive things to say about their school custodian:<\/span><\/p>\n

“Greg inspires me to learn everyday because whenever I am sad, I can count on Greg to make me smile.”
