Safe and healthy play would not be possible at\u00a0Frost Elementary School<\/a> in Lawrence without Mr. Rick. For 10 years, Mr. Rick has been the custodian at Frost working hard to maintain the school\u2019s play areas and ensure the safety of every student.<\/p>\n

Mr. Rick is the first to arrive at school every morning\u2013rain or shine (or snow!). During the fall, he rakes the leaves off of the blacktop so it doesn\u2019t get slippery. After a rainy day, you can find him on the play structure drying the slides and monkey bars with his leaf blower. After every snowfall, Mr. Rick plows the whole play area and makes sure the blacktop is salted and ice-free.<\/p>\n

The staff and administration have only positive things to say about Mr. Rick. According to Principal Sarah McLaughlin, \u201cRick is truly one of Frost School\u2019s greatest strengths\u2013he can fix anything, clean anything, organize anything, and still finds time to visit classrooms to connect with students and teachers.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just like all of us at Playworks, Mr. Rick loves seeing students playing games, enjoying the outdoor space, making friends, and having fun. You will always find Mr. Rick with a smile on his face, contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment.
\nWe are grateful for rock star staff members like Mr. Rick whose hard work make Playworks programming possible.<\/p>\n

Mr. Rick makes excellent happen at Frost by making sure the school and it\u2019s students are safe and ready for play every day!<\/p>\n
