  1. Updates

Playworks Louisiana is thrilled to announce that we are registered with Gulf Coast Bank’s Community Rewards Program. The participants, all nonprofit organizations, are located in E. Baton Rouge, Jefferson, Orleans, St. Bernard, St. Tammany, and Tangipahoa parishes. Gulf Coast Bank’s Community Rewards Program is an online contest that rewards a total of $50,000 to the top ten nonprofits voted on by the community. The funds will be awarded in one $25,000 gift, one $10,000 gift, one $5,000 gift, three $2,000 gifts, and four $1,000 gifts.

Please take a moment–literally–and place your vote for Playworks Louisiana. You can vote again tomorrow and once a day through March 31, 2017!

Playworks is the leading nonprofit in New Orleans, and nationally, that is leveraging play as a tool to promote healthy behaviors, increase social and emotional learning, and improve school climate. Playworks reaches every kid every day of the school year. Playworks uses play, a universally accessible activity, to establish new norms for respectful social behavior and to increase physical activity for every kid. At a Playworks school, it becomes uncool to exclude or ridicule any child for any reason at any time. Every child is included in play regardless of athletic ability, academic skills, or economic background.

A vote for Playworks Louisiana is a vote for a safe and healthy recess for every kid! Thanks so much for your support.
