Come Kick for a Cause!

Playworks DC’s 9th Annual Corporate Kickball Fundraiser!

Q: What is Kickball for Kids?

Kickball for Kids is Playworks’ annual tournament to raise awareness about our programming while engaging the community in a fun day of play. This is one of those rare opportunities to get out of the office, do some genuine team building (without having to climb ropes or tell embarrassing stories), and use play to reward, encourage, and support your workplace community. Team fees support Playworks’ programs in elementary schools across the DMV, serving more than 14,180 children every day.

Q: Who can play in the Corporate Kickball Tournament?

Participating organizations that can gather 9-15 employees (or friends/family) to come out for an afternoon of playful team-building, exercise, and friendly competition. Your team will be coached by a Playworks Junior Coach, one of our student leaders who helps facilitate safe and healthy play at recess!

Q: Are kids allowed?

You are welcome to bring your kids, but they will not be able to play at the tournament (the tournament is for 18 and older). If you are bringing kids, you are also responsible for their care.

Q: Do we need to be good at kickball or have experience playing?

Not at all! If you’ve never played, don’t worry. Our tournament is open to everyone, at every experience level. The game is easy to learn and we will equip all teams in advance with rules and a coach to answer questions.

Q: Where will the tournament be held?

West Potomac Park (National Mall) next to the MLK and FDR memorials.

Q: How do I get there? Where do I park?

Drivers can enter Ohio Dr and Independence Ave SW into their GPS to look up directions. Parking is available on Ohio Drive (metered street parking), or attendees can drive down Ohio Drive to lots underneath the Rochambeau Bridge (near the Cuban Friendship Urn). There are several metered lots there.

Another alternative is to Metro to the Smithsonian Station (blue/orange/silver lines) and walk. This is about 1.2 miles.
