Football Extravaganza 2019—Breaking Barriers

  1. Updates

On May 24, Playworks partnered with Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation to host the second annual Flag Football Extravaganza.

The event took place at Folger Park in SE, Washington D.C. Both Brent Elementary and St. Peters participated in this day of play. Washington Valor players Jared Dangerfield, Deveric Gallington, Jadar Johnson, and Leon Mackey J instructed the students in drills and a series of flag football games.

Kids from neighboring schools Brent Elementary and St. Peters played together for the very first time. While one is a public and the other is a private institution, they each tackled the day head-on.

With the help of our incredible Junior Coaches, the kids expressed values of civility, curiosity, and inclusivity.
