Coach Katherine! Coach Katherine is a third-year program coordinator at Greenwood Academy in Denver, Colorado who fully embraces the mission and values of Playworks. Coach Katherine has prided herself in creating an amazing Junior Coach program at her school during the past two years and continues this into her third year. All Junior Coaches are present at recess, helping lead attention getters at the beginning of recess, leading games during recess, and cheering at the end of recess. Katherine&#8217;s dedication and hard work in building\u00a0the Junior Coach Leadership Program\u00a0have allowed her Junior Coaches to excel in and out of the classroom.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">During the month of September, Coach Katherine used former Junior Coaches, now sixth graders, to help train the 15 new Junior Coaches. She selected five past Junior Coaches and worked with them to create a curriculum and shadowing schedule for the 15 new Junior Coaches. She set goals with them, continuously challenged\u00a0them to strive to be better, and encouraged them to be leaders both in and out of the classroom.
