I love my job and I love my school! I’ve seen the difference Playworks can make and I just want to be a part of expanding that impact for more kids.

What I do with the kids every day really helps them - both in school and in life.

Here’s a story that shows what I mean:

In my first year at Goss Elementary in San Jose I was able to convince Cynthia to join my girls basketball team. It took some persuasion because she had never played sports before. In fact she had never even dribbled a basketball.

But Cynthia was enthusiastic at being asked to play so she came to every practice and every game. By the end of the season she could dribble the ball down the court, pass to her teammates and even scored a few baskets. Not only had she built the skills needed to play basketball, she had developed a real passion for the game.

Next thing I knew she was out playing basketball at recess with the boys. And she says she’s going to continue in middle school. I have to believe that Playworks has made a lasting impact on her.

That’s why I love my job so much.
