On June 4th, the extended Playworks San Francisco community gathered at Chevy’s Mexican Restaurant on Van Ness to celebrate the end of the 2009-2010 school year.

Over 200 people attended the event, energetically crowding the back half of the restaurant. Program Coordinators, Playworks office staff, teachers, parents, guardians, kids, and friends all were found laughing and dining together to raise money for the organization. While adults sipped on margaritas, 25% of all food proceeds went to Playworks programming in San Francisco.

“I’ve never seem this many people at one of our fundraisers!” said Dean, Chevy's manager. One student, from George Peabody Elementary, arrived with his parents wearing his newly- earned purple junior coach shirt.  Good times were certainly had by all, especially the program coordinators who earned the celebration after such a successful year at our 17 San Francisco schools.  Its sure to become an annual hit!
