2009-2010 School Year is Officially Kicked-Off in the Crescent City!

Playworks New Orleans is off to a fantastic start to the 2009-2010 school year!  We began our year by hosting our colleagues from the brand new Playworks launch city of Newark, NJ.  Both teams from New Orleans and Newark spent five full days together for Pre Service Training at the Reilly Athletic Center at Tulane University.  This was a week of learning the in’s and out’s of Playworks from a youth development curriculum stand point to a culture of play.  This week allowed both teams to get to know one another, build friendships and a support system for this exciting year we embark upon.  We ended the week by sharing our own personal stories about New Orleans and our experiences with Hurricane Katrina as we went on a recovery tour of our great city with our new friends from Newark, New Jersey.
