About Playworks Greater Newark / Greater New York

Playworks Greater Newark/Greater New York opened in 2009 and provided seven schools in Newark and Roselle, NJ with quality recess and Playworks Programming. For the 2011-2012 academic school year we will provide programming to 16 elementary schools impacting 7,600 students daily in Northern New Jersey and Brooklyn, New York.

In January 2010 we piloted our program in one school in Brooklyn.  P.S. 11 Purvis J. Behan Elementary is Playworks’ first school in New York City. In the 2011-2012 school year, Playworks will be in four additional schools in the borough of Brooklyn.
