Where We Are

Playworks has gone back to school in 2011-12 with our most ambitious year ever, spanning from the East Coast to the West, and all regions in between. This year, we are serving more than 300 schools in 22 cities nationwide, providing play and physical activity every day for more than 120,000 students in low-income schools.  Playworks' trained, full-time adults, known as "coaches," serve at our partner schools,  engaging children at recess and during class game time, supporting youth leadership programs, and running non-school time programs and developmental sports leagues.

Playworks works exclusively with low income schools, where at least 50 percent of students qualify for free or reduced lunch.  Our plan is to serve 27 cities across the country and more than 600 low-income schools by 2012.
