After a nationwide search, Cartoon Network executive Stuart Snyder was named the 2012 Most Playful CEO. From his oversized tricycle, to the daily gong that celebrates ratings success, Stu embodies the culture of play that leads to workplaces success. “I'm a believer of leading by play,” says Stu. “We're all teammates. Playing, having fun and laughing together improves our work ethic.”

Principal Josette Buendia of Bennett Elementary in Southwest Detroit was named the 2012 Most Valuable Principal “We need to care about fun and play, because children need to love being here at school,” she says. “We are primarily about education and critical thinking, but kids need laughter and play to be happy, burn energy and learn life skills.”

Playworks' 2012 Rookie of the Year hails from Montezuma Elementary in Albuquerque. Amanda Padilla combines her background in Special Education with her love of coaching to create a healthy, inclusive environment for every student every day.  “I believe that everyone has an ability to play," she says. "The kids just need one person to come and show them that everyone can play together.”
