  • "The day itself was a blast.  I had an amazing time playing with the kids and my teammates. One moment was particularly special for me. During a game where we retrieve items and return them to the bin, I noticed a quiet girl standing off to the side.  I introduced myself, learned her name was Shamira and that she didn’t understand how to play the game. She was super shy and didn’t open up immediately with me.  But after helping her through a few rounds of the activity, some of her classmates came over and began helping her themselves. Soon she was able to go off on her own and play alongside new friends. I was struck by how the positive environment Playworks offers shows kids how to help each other and be "good people” to one another."

  • "The experience was so great I offered to volunteer once a month with the organization.”
