Coach Peel has earned the title of November’s Corps Member of the Month. Coach Peel came to Playworks this year with a plethora of experience working with kids at the YMCA and Girl Scouts. It came as no surprise that the kids at Sandy Elementary have really taken to her, but what is truly special about her program is that she has empowered the school staff to really run with the Playworks program. She devised an incentive system for her class game times that has her principal engaged and her kids excited. Coach Peel has become an integral part of our Playworks team. Read on to learn more about her.

What brought you to Playworks?

I was unable to play soccer after my freshman year of college due to a career-ending injury. I was incredibly bitter and upset for a long time. Then I discovered coaching. I love that Playworks gives me the opportunity to teach kids about something I love and believe in.

How do you usually relax after a long day of work?

Hiking, biking, playing with my dog, reading, and/or running.

What is your favorite guilty pleasure TV show?

Bob’s Burgers

Tell us two fun facts about yourself!

I am one of ten kids and I can’t bend my right wrist.
