On Monday, August 8, 2016, former Charlotte Hornets’ and current Portland Trail Blazers’ guard Gerald Henderson will host the 3rd Annual Gerald Henderson Charity Golf Invitational benefiting Playworks North Carolina and presented by ACN. The outing will take place at TPC Piper Glen in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The 18-Hole Gerald Henderson Charity Golf Invitational will commence with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. A ticketed brunch will take place starting at 8 a.m. for sponsors and special invited guests and will feature a silent auction. Last year’s auction items included autographed items from Michael Jordan and Mike Kryzewski, a piece of the Boston Celtics floor, Billy Joel concert suite tickets and many more.

This year’s celebrities are still being confirmed. Last year’s celebrity guests scheduled to participate in the tournament include Jay Bilas, Matt Carroll, Phil Crosby, Julius “the Doctor” Erving, Trai Essex, Harvey Gantt, Richard “Rip” Hamilton, Gerald Henderson Sr., Antawn Jamison, Brevin Knight, Branford Marsalis, Sean McDonough, Nazr Mohammed, Buzz Peterson, Mike Quick, Rick Robey, Max Starks, Terry Taylor, Yancey Thigpen, Perry Tuttle, Tony Womack, and Al Wood.

All teams for the Monday tournament will be comprised of a four-person group and one celebrity, and play will consist of a Scramble Format with team prizes and trophies awarded to the top finishers. There will also be a chance to win a brand new car and vacation packages for a hole-in-one, as well as awards and prizes for closest to the pin and longest drive winners. A number of local companies will be participating as on-course vendors.
