Coach Trevor Makes Excellent Happen

  1. Updates

Coach Trevor is a first-year program coordinator at Trotter Elementary School in Dorchester. He is passionate about making a difference in the community and is dedicated to his role as a Playworks coach. Coach Trevor has implemented an incredible program at Trotter, ensuring that all of his students feel safe, welcomed, and included throughout the school day. Over the course of the school year, Coach Trevor has built an incredible relationship with school administrators, staff members, students, and the broader school community. He plays an integral role in ensuring that all students are able to learn, lead, and thrive in school.

During the month of March, Coach Trevor volunteered to join the Playworks recruitment committee in our regional office. He is working alongside office staff members to help recruit the next cohort of Playworks coaches for the upcoming school year. Coach Trevor is incredibly passionate about finding new, energetic individuals to serve as Playworks coaches. In fact, he created a Twitter account to help spread the word about our hiring opportunities. He knows that recruiting individuals who are committed to service and the local community will help Playworks New England reach our aim of serving 200,000 students by December 2020.

Coach Trevor continues to make excellent happen at his school by hosting college volunteers from Northeastern University that are enrolled in a “Games and Social Justice” class. This cohort of Northeastern students is creating games to help students combat social justice issues in their community. Coach Trevor is also serving as an advisor to the Northeastern class and helps the college students implement these games at Trotter. With his incredible dedication and passion for creating a healthy, fun, and safe environment for his students, we are confident Coach Trevor will continue to make excellent happen throughout New England.
