Coach Christine Makes Excellent Happen

Coach Christine is a first year Program Coordinator at the Sam Adams Elementary School in East Boston. She is passionate about making a difference in the community and is dedicated to her role as a Playworks Coach. Coach Christine has built an incredible program at the Sam Adams, ensuring that all of her students feel safe, welcomed and included throughout the school day. Throughout her year at the Sam Adams Elementary School, Coach Christine has built an incredible relationship with the school administration and community. She is a critical part of ensuring that all students are able to learn, lead, and thrive in school.

During the month of March,Coach Christine and her Junior Coaches decided to raise awareness for Autism in the school and local community. This included creating new games that students of all abilities would be able to participate in.These new games were highlighted at recess as the Game of the Week. Additionally, the Junior Coaches worked with an individual classroom to implement a Class Based Action Learning lesson plan that was inclusive of all students with varying abilities.

Coach Christine continues to make excellent happen at her school by taking a lead role in the Playworks Run for Recess in May. She volunteered to help lead the donations committee to ensure that the race has water, food, goodie bags and raffle prizes at the event. With her incredible dedication and passion for creating a healthy, fun and safe environment for her students, we are confident Coach Christine will continue to make excellent happen throughout Massachusetts.
