Brown Brothers Harriman and Playworks Collaborate for Success

  1. Updates

Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) has partnered with Playworks to bring our full day program to the Eliot K-8 School in the North End, ensuring every student has the opportunity to engage in safe, healthy and inclusive play every day. In addition, they are as sponsoring a Junior Coach Leadership program for 4th and 5th graders.

BBH Cares has been volunteering on a monthly basis since 2010. Volunteers serve at recess and with the afterschool program, providing ongoing mentorship while modeling positive leadership behaviors.

Playworks and Brown Brothers Harriman are currently partnering on a new initiative, Collaboration for Success, designed to deliver collaborative training to Junior Coaches at the Eliot School. Through focusing on BBH’s corporate values of communication, healthy collaboration, and innovation, Playworks Junior Coaches will strengthen their 20th century leadership skills.

“Playworks applauds Brown Brothers Harriman’s commitment to Boston Public Schools,” notes Playworks Executive Director, Max Fripp. “Together Playworks and BBH are developing the skills students need to succeed in the classroom, community and future workplace.”

The partnership provides a high quality volunteer opportunity for BBH employees – which reinforce core values and competencies key to company success – and allows students to visualize the connection between their roles as Junior Coaches and workforce development skills, and to develop mentorship relationships between the students and BBH employees.

As part of  Collaboration for Success, Brown Brothers Harriman hosted a career day at their office on Friday, April 5th and will continue to volunteer with the Junior Coach program throughout the rest the school year.
